4 times Prof Ikonne Proved he is beyond a Vice Chancellor.

Prof Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne has remained one of those rare leaders who lead beyond 'official status quo' of his personality. We are not trying to prove what has not been, but various situations has unconsciously announced that Prof Eleazar Ikonne is beyond a VC, rather a father to all students.

For the past one year, the professor of Optometry has in no doubt brought remarkable tremendous changes In the school but has done more beyond what his predecessors did especially in students - staff relationship.
Prof have been able to go far as even reaching students families.
Without much ado, let us see some events that has played out for the past one year .


Prof Ikonne visit Nneoma Uhuegbu,s Parents.



The death of Miss Nneoma Uhuegbu spark sorrow in Abia State University uturu. Nneoma who was few days away to her Induction as medical doctor was involved in ghastly motor accident which claimed only her life. The whole University community mourned the passing away of this great student. The Vice chancellor was not left out, him alongside his principal officers reached the Uhuegbu,s at thier home town in Umuahia.


Visit of Absuth accident victims at Fmc.



The accident that claimed Nneoma Uhuegbu's life spared some of her colleagues, who were moved to Federal medical center umuahia, the VC rushed to visit and pray for his students.


Students - staff relationship.



The Vice in his continued effort has been able to create cordial semi formal relationship ties with the students, the Vice chancellor has most times held several meetings with students bodies and organizations especially the Man O War command.


University - Church /Fellowship Relationship.



Prior the Prof Ikonne,s administration, the churches /fellowship has been at loggerheads with the University management. It was even rumoured that the University management has planned to move the churches fellowship out of the campus, but today, the churches, fellowships enjoy cordial relationship with the University Management.

Above all Prof Ikonne is not just a good man but a humble fellow . On his 60th birthday, Absuvila sent a birthday wish to the learned effigy late in the night , despite the odd hour, he replied within seconds. Indeed Prof Ikonne is a blessing to all.
