Boko Haram attack kills 15 in Borno state

 
– Boko Haram attacked another village in Borno state yesterday
 – At least 15 were killed in the assault on the village of Mussa
– Two suspected terrorists were arrested afterwards

At least 15 people have been killed and two Boko Haram terrorists arrested in fresh attack on a village in Borno state yesterday. The terrorists reportedly stormed the remote village of Mussa in Askira/Uba local government area (LGA) of Borno state at about 8pm last night. According to Sahara Reporters, local witness said the terrorists started throwing explosives at civilians, killing at least 11 people and wounding many others. Boko Haram had previously planted improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along the roads connecting Mussa-Wambio villages.

The six injured vigilantes are currently receiving treatment at Uba General Hospital. A Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) source in Mussa district said two suspected Boko Haram members have been arrested in possession of some provisions stolen from the village yesterday.



“It was around 8pm last night when Boko Haram attacked us. We engaged them but later they started throwing explosives at civilians and our members,” he said. “They killed nine people including three children and scores were wounded.” He added after Boko Haram ransacked the village, they looted foodstuffs and livestock from the area. “It is just unfortunate that our people have started coming ahead of rain season these bad people came and attacked us again.”
