VC visits NFCS, gifts school fess to two students
It was indeed a moment of surprise and shock for the Chaplain, Students and the entire congregants at the St. Augustine's Catholic Center, Abia State University, as the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne, his wife, Barrister Lady Uzoamaka Uche-Ikonne made an unannounced appearance at the morning Mass session of the chapel last sunday.
Professor Ikonne cautioned the students to shun cultism and other related activities, as the university security and other relevant agencies are on red alert to deal decisively with anyone caught in the act.
He admonished them to study and work hard to ensure excellence in their upcoming examinations noting that with the quality of staff in University, the Uninterrupted academic calendar, presupposes that there is great expectations for the students to excel in their various disciplines at the end of every academic session.

Professor Ikonne also used the opportunity to thank the church for their synergy with Management in uplifting the spiritual content of the students and pledged the unalloyed determination of his administration, to positively shape the future of the students at all times.
He further showered his love by paying full tuition fee for two students, who performed exceptional during the praise worship.

Delivering a homily, Rev Father Augustine Okeke charged worshipers to always stand and abide by the truth, even if it means standing alone.
Appreciating the Vice-Chancellor, the Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Paschal Onyemelusi, who expressed surprise at the VC’s Unannounced visit, described Professor Ikonne as a veritable partner in God’s work. He offered a special prayer for the Vice-Chancellor, his Wife, and the entire congregation.
