ABSU 49TH INAUGURAL LECTURE
Ugoeze Roseline Ihuoma Ndimele, a Professor of Linguistic and alumnus of Abia State University will be delivering the 49th Inaugural Lecture of Abia State University come wednesday,14th August,2019.
The Lecture will focus on the topic: RESCUING THE IGBO LANGUAGE FROM EXTINCTION: THE FAMILY AND LANGUAGE MAINTENANCE.
Professor Ndimele is currently the Dean, Faculty of Humanities, Abia State University. She has served severally as Head, Department of Linguistics and communication studies; Head, Department of Mass Communication; Director, Center for Igbo Studies till September 2018, when she became Dean.
She has served as Commissioner for Women Affairs; Youth and Development; Lands, Survey and Urban Planning respectively in Abia State.
Professor Roseline Ihuoma Ndimele is widely published in languages, communication and culture. She has 4 book chapters, 2 textbooks, 1 co-authored book, 24 journal articles published locally and internationally to her credit. Her research interest include linguistics, communication, culture and Igbo.
At this juncture, it is therefore wise to salute the Agburuike- Nsulu born international Optometrist, the Ugommuta ndi Abia, the18th Inaugural Laurate of ABSU and Vice-Chancellor, Abia State University, Distinguished Professor Eleazer Uchenna Ikonne, for reviving the moribund inaugural lecture series of Abia State University.
Come Wednesday August 14, 2019, the university will again roll out it drum to celebrate yet another harvest of intellectualism.
Therefore, members of the academia, Government functionaries’ friends and alumni of Abia State University are warmly invited to this lecture as it promises to be memorable.
