ABSU LAW STUDENTS LAMENT OF ALLEGED EXTORTION BY UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT

The students of the Faculty of Law Abia State University Uturu currently processing their law school forms are not finding it funny, as a result of series of alleged extortion by the faculty and the university management board.

Absuvila gathered that these students are forced to pay for every administrative activity rendered by the University.

These are some of the payments :

1) The submission of Dean’s referee form #3500 from every applicant.

This means that students are forced to part with N3500 while submitting Dean’s referee form.

2) Submission Of Law school form to the faculty #2000 from every applicant.

Every applicant must pay N2000 just to submit form.

3) Abia state university project fund #20,000 from applicants.

And so many other fees.

Our source reported that the applicants are calling on the government to address the issue so as to enable them go to Nigerian law school. The extra extortion is greatly affecting their finances as most of them are Abia State Civil Servant children who have not been receiving salaries as at when due.

Absuvila learnt that the faculty and university authority are mandating every applicant to pay or forfeit the admission into the NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL this year.
