Uproar in Uniport as student protest against ‘no registration’ for late payment of fees’.
Students of the University of Port Harcourt have staged a protest calling on the management of the institution to abolish the policy of ‘no registration’ for late payment of fees’.
The protesting students told newsmen that university’s online school fees portal has been closed since April, thereby making it difficult for them to complete their registration process for the semester.
They want Governor NYEWOM WIKE of Rivers State to prevail on the management of the university to scrap the practice, while also urging the Federal Government to come to their assistance.
The aggrieved UNIPORT students took their complaint to the Government House in Port Harcourt but there was no official to attend to them when our correspondent filed his report.
