Again Absu Seals another deal with Technology Firm
This is indeed a glorious moment for Abia State University, as the Vice Chancellor seems to partner with different technology firms to better the life of the university and students. According to a post by Isreal Ahamefula he said
Abia State University today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Advance Space Technology Application Laboratory (ASTAL), an agency under the auspices of the federal ministry of science and technology, poised to Advance space knowledge through vigorous research and applications of satellite remote sensing and geospatial technologies for the identification, inventory, development as well as management of natural and human resources.
The are to partner with the university in these areas:
√ Land use and Land Capability Mapping
√ Epidemiological Research
√ Global Positioning Systems
√ Space Education and Training
√ Research ArcGIS
√ Erosion Modelling
√ Remote sensing/Geospatial information system ....etc.
Speaking after singing the Agreement, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor E. Uche Ikonne described the event as historic, and disclosed the enviable symbiotic relationship between the University and the Federal Ministry of Science & Technology, as well as his administrations commitment in research and Learning.
The Vice-Chancellor further enjoyed them to put more value to the already existing relationship, as his management support is assured.
In their separate speeches, The Head,Department of Geography and Planning, Dr. J.U Ogbonna and The Executive Coordinator, ASTAL Dr. K.A Uchua thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for providing conducive environment for learning and research in the University and promised not to disappoint them.
In a vote of thanks, Professor M.I Ijioma commended the Vice-Chancellor for his visionary and purposeful leadership in the university, and further enjoyed Management of ASTAL to make use of this great opportunity.
High point of the event was the singing of the Memorandum of Understand,and exchange of souvenir by both parties.

Recall that Absu signed similar pact with a technology firm months ago. The administration of Prof Eleazar Ikonne has proved that the onus of change lies in him.
Absuvila will however to continue support the good works of our dear vice Chancellor.
