Absu Tops List of Approved Academic Researches in Nigeria

Thirty-eight (38) Research topics from staff of Abia State University have so far been approved for funding by Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund),amounting to over fifty (50) million naira,the highest by any University in the country. Twelve of these research topics are in hot contention for the National Research Grant.

Recall that in assumption of office,the Vice-Chancellor, Professor E. Uche Ikonne,in his mandate:Our Story Must Change,promised to establish a Research-Oriented Administration which would involve:
√ University's reputation for Research Excellence among it's peer's

√ University's Research income scaled against staff members;

√ A measure of Research productivity-research output scaled against staff members.
This includes number of papers published in the academic journals scaled for a university total size.

This gives an idea of an institution's ability to get papers published in quality peer review journals.
Indeed, our story is changing for Good.
