Nyeri Women of Kenya Say Baboons From Park Harass Them



Inhabitants of Endarasha, Nyeri area, are living in trepidation of monkeys and primates from a close-by park, refering to provocation.

Inhabitant Esther Wangui yesterday said monkeys and primates from the Aberdare National Park, Kieni West subcounty, have been attacking their homesteads in troops of around 50.

"As of late a lady was attacked by more than 10 male monkeys," she told the Star.

"They had opened their mouths thundering and were holding their privates to threaten her," Wangui said.

She said an alternate lady was attacked and uncovered when she attempted to keep the primates from attacking her homestead.

Occupant John Kariuki said the creatures' populace has been expanding in light of the fact that they are getting nourishment from the ranches and insufficient from the recreation center.

"The creatures are simply conceiving twins. Our populace in the town is still low in light of the fact that we are buckling down yet not sufficiently getting sustenance," Kariuki said.

Endarasha MCA Peter Kamau urged the KWS to discover a brisk arrangement under the watchful eye of inhabitants take the law into their hands.
