Rotaract did not originate on its own rather it was formed with the help of Rotary.
Now let's go!!!

WHAT IS ROTARY?
Rotary is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, to encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and to advance goodwill and peace around the world.
It is a secular organization open to all people regardless of race
Color
Creed
Religion
Gender
Political influence
The members of this Rotary are called Rotarians "Rtn".
They usually gather weekly for breakfast, lunch or dinner to fulfill their first guiding principle in other to develop friendship as an opportunity for service.
The Rotarians primary motto is "Service above self". It's secondary motto is "One profits most who serves best"
The objectives of Rotary is set against the "Rotary 4-way test"
It is used to see if a planned action is compatible with the Rotarian spirit.
The test was developed by a Rotarian, an entrepreneur , Herbert J .Taylor during the great depression as a set of guidelines for restoring faltering businesses and was adopted as the standard of ethics by Rotary in 1942.
It is still seen as a standard for ethics in business management.
The 4- way test considers the following questions in respect to thinking, saying or doing:
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendship?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
So we act/speak according to the 4-way test.
Note: ITS NOW TIME FOR HISTORY
Now let's look at a short history/origin of Rotary(how it was formed);
There was a man called Paul P. Harris, he was born in Racine, Wisconsin, U.S.A in April 1868.
He died on 27th Jan 1947.
Paul worked as a newspaper reporter, a business college teacher, a stock company actor and as a cowboy.
He traveled extensively as a salesman for a marble and granite concern in the U.S.A and Europe.
These varied experience broadened his vision and were of material assistance in originating Rotary.
In 1986,Paul went to Chicago to practice Law.
In 1900 after dinner with a lawyer in a residential section of Chicago,Paul was impressed by the fact that his friend stopped at several stores and shops in the neighborhood and introduced him to the clients.
So Paul resolved to organize a club which would bind together a group of representative business and professional men in friendship and fellowship.
In 1905, he had formulated a definite philosophy of business relations talking it over with three of his clients:
Silvester Schelea coal Merchant
Gustavo's Leehi_a mining Engineer
Hiram Shoran Storey___ a Merchant Tailor
He decided to organize with them the club which he had been planning since 1900.
On Feb 23 1905, he held this first club meeting, and the nucleus was formed for the thousands of Rotary clubs.
The club was named "Rotary" because the members met in rotation in their various places of business. This met with general approval and club membership grew rapidly(internationally).
