Within a couple of days gone, Abia state University Uturu sports contingency who travelled to UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA NSUKA (UNN) to take part in the track and field events at the preliminary stage, returned home with good results of jingling medals.

The athletes arrived late in the evening on Friday with shout of victory and qualification slot to sell there sure ways to Markudi for NUGA proper.

Speaking with the Team captain Okpechi Williams this evening, he said "we are so excited and has promised to show readiness in their preparation for the tourney stressing that the spirit is high and fellow athletes are not relenting.

The medal stands in the preliminaries are as follows.

13 Gold, 8 Silver, 9 Bronze.
Total. 30medals.

2. ABSU
5 Gold, 8 Silver and 11 Bronze. Total. 24 medals

3. ESUT
5 Gold, 6 Silver and 12 Bronze.
Total 23medals.

4. MOUAU
5 Gold, 5 Silver 8 Bronze.
Total 18 medals

5. ANSU
4 Gold, 9 Silver 4 Bronze.
Total 17 medals

6. UNIZIK
3 GOLD , 8 SILVER 5 Bronze.
Total 14 medals

The qualified team will represent Abia State University Uturu in Markudi this month.
